Halloween may be a week away for most Americans, but for those of us on college campuses, the festivities start in just a few days. Yale kicks off its Halloween celebration this Wednesday at Toad’s! Some students spend all year thinking of costume ideas, but, for those who have procrastinated, I’ve got you covered. Here are some last-minute costume ideas, incorporating items that you may already have in your closet.
Girls Night: Powerpuff girls
If you don’t already have one of these brightly-colored bodycon dresses, order one on Amazon for under $15. Make a black sash out of leftover fabric, throw on some white knee-highs, and you’re ready to go.
Cutest: Boo from Monsters’ Inc
Want an easy costume? Just find an over-sized pink T-shirt, purple leggings, and some white converse. Not sure that you’ll scare many people in this outfit, but it’s certainly a cute one.
Political: Rosie the Riveter
This costume incorporates the denim on denim trend. Add some red lipstick and you’re all set!
Edgy: Wednesday Addams
Want an all black look? Wear a longsleeve black dress over a white-button down and add some black knee-highs and boots. You’ll officially be part of the Addams family.
Best friend: Fresh Prince and Carlton
Throw it back to the 90’s and be the Fresh Prince and Carlton. If you don’t have any 90’s-themed clothes, just go to Savers or Goodwill. You’re bound to find something for a low price.
Couple: Danny and Sandy from Grease
Here’s an idea for a cute couple costume - Danny and Sandy from Grease. For Danny, just pair a leather jacket with a basic white tee and black jeans. Don’t forget to slick back your hair!
